hey i just bought a 1990 honda civic lx 4door, 5spd, power winows/locks/mirrors. and the driver side door doesnt lock, when you flip the power door lock swtich it goes down a lil but not enough, and if you try to push it down it wont go down. does anyone have any ideas on whats wrong? and am i gonna need to take the door panel off? id appreciate any help because iits important to have all the doors lock with what im gonna e having inside. thanks alot

it sounds like a bent lock rod or a weak lock actuator. either way you have to pull the door panel. with the panel off check to see if the rod is hitting on anything.

Here is another way, pull out the handle of the car door opener(from the inside) and then hit the lock switch. This is a saftey type of precaution, it is to make it so you dont lock you keys in your car.

Yeah I just learned that trick of pulling the inside handle while locking it a month or 2 ago; I nearly p*ssed my pants when my buddy showed me it. Sure beats having to lock it with the key everytime I get out. Reminds me to get a copy of my key made too, incase I mess up and leave the key in there so I don't have to break my hatch to get in.
