doesn't run the same anymore

I've got a 99 grand am se v6, just turned 115Km, mine since new.
I've noticed that it doesnt perform the same anymore, it's slow to regain speed on the hiway and I have to press the gas pedal a lot more than I used to.
I've never done any sort of tune up at all since new, just oil change every 5000Km and lots of brake replacemet.
Could anyone give me some tips on how to get it back to speed again?
I don't want to burn money in a tune up if it isn't the problem

Thanks

Yes, you should do a tune up. The plugs and wires are supposed to be good until 100k miles (115k kilmoeters is roughly 70k miles? right) but they usually loose performance long before 100k miles. If I were you I would change teh plugs, plug wires, air filter, and have the trans fluid and filter changed. This should get to perfom much better and all in all should only cost about $200-250 american (so about $300 or so canadian) if you take it to a mechanic for the work. Also keep in mind that this is no longer a new car, it will never perform like it did the day you bought it, but tuning it up will definitely help out and you should notice a huge difference.

I gave my car a tune up at 65K and it runs so much better like new! Me and a friend tuned it up our selves. Changed all the plugs, they were burned

This is a detail I forgot about, but the slow down happened suddenly and at the same time the low trac light started to come up, only right after starting the car, backing up or making a turn.
I've seen a few posts about fuel filter replacement.
Does anyone have anithing like that??

Thanks

changing the fuel filter is also a good idea too, but you really do need to tune it up and change the tranny fluid if you havent yet, it will prevent future problems and it will bring back the performance (and fuel economy) in you car
