alright, I'm planning on installing some flowmasters 80 series on my 89 iroc. in the past years, my car passed the emission regulations but like it barely passed. i have maintained it very well and it doesnt leak oil and you dont see a huge puff of black smoke when u turn it on etc. so do you think it will pass it? i have to go by the end of this month so i can renew the 'sticker'. thanks a lot.

As long as you do not move the catalytic converter, any exhaust modifications should be legal (with the exception of dumping right at or right over the axel, and removing any O2 sensors.

you remove the o2 sensors and the engine wont be able to maintain the proper A/F ratios, resulting in worse emitions, that's the whole point of the O2 sensors. damn hippies and their environment...

i seen something like if u take out your old o2 sensors, and put in the new diff ones, you can gain 15hp and 25 torque u think thats true?

well, for starters, i never take gained horsepower numbers at face value. they are almost never true for everyday applications. but im sure there are performance sensors out there, and they probably just send a fake signal to the ecu to make it dump more fuel into the cylinders. ive never had any primary or secondary experience with anything like that, but im sure they exist and that they do something along those lines...

i doubt that it would be noticable, if it did anything at all. if your engine isnt throwing a code, i wouldnt worry about em...
