Time Required to Change All Brake Lining

We recently had * all * of the brake line changed on our 90 Honda Accord EXR.
The mechanic charged us 2.8 hours and said that this was a bargain.
Does this sound correct considering everything else that has to be done when the brake line is replaced?

Thanks in advance.

i'm not professional mechanic, but i'd say it's 2-2.5 hour job, so 2.8 isn't that far away from my estimate.

It rather depends which brake line. But, whichever one, a fair amount of dismantling and reassembly is required (and bleeding, too, of course).

Are we talking about brake lines (the pipes that supply brake fluid to the brakes) or brake lining (the pads and shoes)? I would imagine it would take a lot more time to change the brake lines than 2.8 hours.

Sorry,
Brake lining.

I had all four rotors and pads changed out on my 95 Accord. It took the mechanic 2.5 hours but he had to deal with pressed on rotors that were a little difficult to remove.

Just new pads/shoes in 2.8 hours? It might take ME that long, but I wouldn't consider it a "bargain"

Front pads take, maybe, 15-20 minutes per side, for example.

Time required vs. time charged are two different things. Most mechanics are able to finish a 4 wheel brake job in 45 minutes or less. Don't feel ripped off. Most likely that shop charges by Chilton time or something similiar. Are the times inflated? Yes, but if they were less, you would probably see less mechanics out there.
