I'm not sure about the specs of the SI and the SX (Canadian models?), but if they are the same as the US Prelude Base or SH (200hp) and Celica GTS (180hp), I will have to go with the Prelude. I own a Prelude and even though it is the slower automatic, I still love it. The Celica is a great car though.

The Celica isn't bad, but the Prelude is a better value IMO.

The celica would win, raced a prelude with turbo, and smoked it.
Toyota is better

those celicas are damn quick dont be fooled they are winning their class in production racing series down here.... and i have seen a beautiful clean black sx with a subtle but sexy TRD bodykit, and a blitz supercharger kit..plus all the basic mods... that thing was NICE.... i dont really like either i only like RWD or even AWD...

The Prelude makes about 20 more horsepower, but it's also a lot heavier...I'd take the Celica GT-S, mainly because it gets better mileage (smaller motor and 6-speed manual) and I'm a Toyota person.

what a dumb-ass comment ... unless you post some specs i call bs... a turbo charged lude would beat the GT4 celica all day long , an i doubt you have a GT4 so a boosted prelude would blow the doors off of any other celica model with ease !! The only thing your smoking is crack ...

what is the point of comparing cars by street races?? there are too many variables weather it was the driver, how fast u actually started, maybe u were on a roll at 40 and he was on a roll at 30 not, or if the car was actually racing u... comments refering to street racing are worthless...

imo people who write these are just looking for attention and bragging about beating other cars which we arent even sure of in the first place...

As much as I prefer Toyota over Honda, the Celica is overpriced for what you get. Go with the 'Lude.
