cd writing programs

a few months back i had to do a system restoration on my computer, and since cant find the software i had before for burning cds. so i downloaded this musicmatch thing, i have the free version which is slow. tried others, but just had a pile of adware and wasted time to show for it. anyway, the thing is i need to burn .avi files, but this program wont do it, havnt found any that will, so does anyone know of any free software that can?
or if not, recommend some good software to buy thats not very expensive, im a cheap bastard when it comes to this crap. i only need to burn a few files and dont want to spend much, if any, money.

so thanks for any help

What version of window's do you have?

Is CD-R Win still around? If it is, try that I guess. You can try downloading Nero off Kazaa or something also...that's what I did.

i use Nero...you can find cracks everywhere i think , but mine came with my burner. go to Download.com and do a search.

thanks, and i have windows 98 by the way. i tried also looking for a windows media player update too, because i could swear b4 i reinstalled everything that burned cds too.
and im also an idiot when it comes to computers.

Nero > *

Windows media player 7.0 or newer can burn onto a cd, but it uses the drivers of your burning software

IE. If you have Easy CD creator as your burning software, when your using WMP, it will youse Roxio burning software to do it.

So use Nero or Easy CD Creator (for a more simple thing)
