Oil Pump Failure

How bad off would an engine be after an oil pump failure?? Meaning extent of work...price...and difficulty of work...said it ran like new before hand...thanks.

The 1986-83 944's have a strang bolt patter so stay away from them if you want to put nicer wheels on it. Get a 1987- newer 944.

Awww, Oops!
I guess it'd depend on how long the engine ran after the oil pump failure and what actually failed. If the oil pump blew apart and you now have little chunks of pump floating in your engine, then the procedure is going to be a lot longer.

There's a procedure for replacing the oil pump. You may want to clean out and reseal the oil-water intercooler and OPRV since your'e at it. Hope it helps.
