1992 AC Compressor Install Question

I'm replacing the ac compressor and cannot orient the three bolts into the engine bracket. I can match up two, but not the third (the middle). Seems to be no place to thread third bolt to the bracket.

Is there an explanation or am I just too dumb to live?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
