Cranks but wont fire

I have a 92 Lumina 3.1. It cranks but wont fire once it's warm, it'll usally start on the second or third time when it's cold. I have already replaced the cap & router, the fuel pump, and filter. It's getting spark, but no gas once it's hot. The only way I can get it to fire is with starting fluid. I pulled the igition control modular tonight, and had it tested at the auto parts store, and it was fine. The oil gage is not working, but the fuse is okay. Any suggestions?

That may be your problem right there. The 3.1's had to have oil pressure before they could get feul. If the oil pressure sensor is bad, or has a loose connection, it may not be telling the ecm to open up the feul injectors. It could also be the oil pump, but check the sensor first.

I wouldnt' trust "testing" an ign module. I had the same problem. Next time it's not starting see if there is spark or fuel. If their is neither then Replace the IGN module with a GM part not an aftermarket one. try the oil sender deal first as per Kooter's sug. Good luck.

If the fuel pump relay fails to start the pump, the oil pressure sensor WILL complete the circuit, once 6-8 psi of oil pressure is created by cranking the motor. Then it will start. It sound like your problem is there, somehow. I'd replace the oil pressure switch, as was said, and the fuel pump relay (they are cheap also) and I bet it's O.K. Otherwise, you will have to get fuel pressure readings while cranking, and see what's going on.
