the 3G suits me fine w/ the power cuz i have a 5 speed, those sportronics just don't put the power down like they should and like my momma always said, " it ain't a sports car if it isn't a stick " i feel bad for my friends that are forced to get autos because their parents dont' want them racing low end power depends on the gear in my car first has pwoer 2nd has some 3rd is ok 4 and 5, well...just downshift being able to downshift is the best thing in the world, it gets me around, burns most of my friends cars, comfortable, "sexy"<<i was told that one, i dont' see it
they have a turbo kit out for my car now (again) i'm getting that when i get it paid off

FOR pics put * and * around the pic's web address but it has to be on the internet right click on properties to get the address w/o the *

thanks guys! I got the car for $10k, it came with 62k miles, fully loaded... it had one owner, and was well kept. The thing came with NO mods, which means I can do it all :) Course, that'll take time and money, but I'm in no hurry. I'm not really a backyard mechanic, but I've always been interested in doing it.

The difference between this car and my old camaro are amazing. I had some guy in a neon try to show off to me when we were in city traffic... I just kept laughing. It was definately worth the money!

i like neons jsut not srt-4's i can burn them dayin and day out and ne thing w/ a turbo i can kill, through 1st and 2nd gear because i launch like there is no tomorrow :D GOOD LUCK w/ modding it, i assume by now you know of DSMTUNERS.com its a good site to help you mod your car the right way and get you started

*price was here* << i guess i can't exaclty say that should be a cheaper one coming from XI racing, but less power too, the kit will run 8.5 psi and something like 280-300+whp then all i'm doing is turning up the boost :D

its comparable to ripp sds << pretty sure i can say that, both price wise and performance

the only 3g that i like would be a black convertible with the top always down. that be great :)

i live in mizery, you can't hardly ever put the top down its always, too hot, too cold, too sticky, or raining and the weather changes every 5 min. its not worth it, my dad had a 97 GS-T spyder and we rarely got to pu the top down, we did in october once w/ my friend and i in hte backseat on a backroad hands up freezing screaming like it was a rollercoaster :D

95 GSX with 62K miles....$10,000 was too much money bro. Our cars depreciate like theres no tomorrow. I'd say you paid a minimum of $3000 too much. Look up KBB if you will. Just saying that because I have purchased and sold a total of 6 Eclipses and 2 Galants over a presiod of 2 years, sooner or later you can begin guessing make used values pretty accuraetly... but oh well, hope u have fun modding the crap outta your DSM ;)

i've got an idea!! 200hp engine no turbo its from the FTO in Japan, 2.0 V6 200hp at 7500rpm, import it no problem, no turbo parts to worry about and if you do turbo your starting from 200hp instead of 140hp if your dad is springing for it, go for it and even if you just have to pay the difference same frame as the 2g though, so it'll fit!

Um.. no. It probally won't fit. Just cause it is a 2g frame does not mean shit. The 4g63 does not fit into a 2g NT same frame there.

actually, people swap 4g63t into N/A eclipses, mounts probably aren't the same engine bay size is, which means the FTO has the same size engine bay if it won't FIT then they would have made a different frame a 2.0l V6 is going to be shorter in height but longer in depth and you won't have to cram turbo parts into it, so it WOULD work, you just need some new mounts and tranny, if it doesnt then i want a mivec engine and i'll do what i can to buy it off

BTW i just think it woudl be fun to see a mivec in an eclipse oh the possiblilties

i paid $5000 for my 96 Talon TSi AWD with 62k miles and $2000 for my 93 Talon TSi AWD. both good deals i think

guitarXgeek

The 2g and 3g N/A motors are completely transverse of the 4g63, so it's by no means an easy swap without lots of $$. It's not really a common swap because it costs well over $5000 just to get the motor in! Much cheaper just to buy one that already has the 4g63 in it ;)

ashah000

Yea people do.. maybe 2 out of all the DSMs out there! It is not as easy as you think.. I am not familiar with that FTO v6 engine but I am sure it would cost around the same as the 4g63 swap if not more..

1. 4G63 turbo engine (stock) $1500
2. transmission (stock GS-T FWD) $500
3. wiring harness for engine $300
4. 4G63 ECU (stock) $300
5. shift linkage $200
6. custom engine mounts $200
7. chassis cross member $100
8. complete exhaust $200
9. intercooler, turbo, related parts $500
10. boost gauge/fuel filter, etc $300
11. Installation $1500
Total - $5600

it definitely aint' cheap fo sho, but his dad was going to pay for the 420a to be installed and everything, so if his dad pays, it would be a worthy venture

What are people talking about with this 4g63? I've read about it in a few places but I'm not sure what it entails...

Kyvec
08-11-2004, 09:16 AM
I knew it was a little much. I'm not really worried about the price though... manual gsx's are impossible to find around here, and I needed a new car. As long as it works...
