help nitrous on 2.0 gti

I have a 1999 gti with exhaust, chip, and a cold air. I was thinking about putting a 50 shot of nitrous on it. Is that stupid, or could it be done with little problems? What has to be done with a stock engine? Thanks for your help.

NKG 1 step colder plugs, spark plug wires, retard timing by 1 or 2 degrees. That should be it. Good Luck
