Maybe I figured it out

Ok so for a while I've had two problems with my car. I don't know much about cars so maybe I've come to a wrong conclusion here. One problem is that second gear is sometimes hard to shift into. Not extremely hard, but it just don't feel right sometimss. Even pops out right after putting it in like it didn't catch. The other is that my oil light comes on when I idle. Sometimes it just flickers, sometimes it stays on, sometimes it don't come on, but as soon as you hit the gas it goes away. The other day I was driving and had it in first in slow traffic and noticed the car was moving forward even though i wasnt on a hill and had the clutch down. i pushed the clutch harder and it stopped moving. When i started driving I made sure to push the clutch hard all the way to the floor and it shifted smoothly. When I idled in first, i pushed the clutch all the way down and it stopped flickering. So I wonder if there is something a little off with my clutch. The oil light still comes on when i idle in nuetral. I'm thinking that the clutch is not pressed all the way so its like when u almost stall ur car and the oil light comes on. (why does it do that by the way?)the clutch pedal is very loose also. Do you think having my clutch readjusted will fix these issues? Is there any harm being done to my car now?

My first guess would be that the issue with it popping out of gear has to do with your transmission linkage. If the linkage is out of adjustment it can cause a problem like you are describing. However, since you mentioned that your vehicle was moving forwards with the clutch disengaged (or what you thought was disengaged) I would bet that you clutch isn't adjusted properly and you aren't getting adequate release. Check your manual for the proper adjustment values and adjust as necessary. Is your clutch hydraulic or mechanical?

The oil light indicates low oil pressure, and it would make sense that it turns off when the engine is at higher RPM's because oil pressure rises with engine RPM. Have this looked into immediately since it could lead to damage.

Check your oil levels, check your oil pump, and sometimes the gauges fail. The fuel guage on cop cars fail often and give false readings. You would never be able to tell if you didn't drive the car regularly.

I've had a full tune up and ran a ton of tests on the engine before this started happening, so I'm hoping they would have caught something then. It wouldn't surprise me if there was just some wiring problem with the gauge considering the gas gauge don't work and i had to replace the speedomoter one already. Oh I got a 93 accord with 200,000 miles on it and it has been doing this oil light thing for over a year. I never got it looked at because the car aint worth it, but it makes me think if that old car isnt having any problems then mine shouldnt either. But if i ever get money, I'll guess i'll have it looked at.

It is entirely possible that the gauge is broken, I've heard of it before. But it's something worth looking into.
