2000 auto transmission

Help. I have a 2000 ranger the transmission slips between 2nd and 3rd. Also it takes a few seconds to go into reverse. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you know someone with an OBDII scanner? Ask them to scan it.
How many miles does it have? Another question: Have you installed a aftermarket "Power" chip? If those go bad they can really screw with your tranny. Otherwise it sounds like your shift solenoid might be sticking, or on it's way out. Being an computer controlled tranny, I would suggest you bring it in to a shop that specializes in transmission repair/rebuilds.

65,000 miles, no after market add-ons. Are the shift solenoids internal? Transmission shop found no indicators with the eletronic diagnostic.
