well i was drivin down my road to my mates place the other week n i got pulled over at a random breath test.
Officer asked for my licence after the breath test but i didnt have it on me cos it was just down the road!!!! . Since im on my p's ur suppose to have it with u at all times.( I didnt know tat at he time tho) . If i did i would of gave them one of my friends names who has their open licence in which in this case the rule dosent apply. Anyways i get slapped with a 150 dollar fine. Seriously pissed off i sent a complaint to the police officers station . I received a letter in the mail stating that i wouldnt have to pay the fine until further notice as they were reviewing it. A month LATER I RECEIVED ANOTHER LATTER SAYIN TAT I HAD TO PAY IT .
u think tat i should jus say i didnt receive the 2nd letter and get on with life? Or do u think there will be severe consequences????

i would be ok if i got caught speedin n had to pay the fine but in this case this is just horseshit.

Any suggestions would be Greatly appreciated.

if you say you didn't get it, there's a good chance you'll get arrested next time you get pulled over. driving w/o your lisence on you is the same level violation as speeding (at least here it is) so the fine is about right. i'd recommend paying it and getting on with life

in most states failure to pay a ticket results in a warrant for your arrest, i would just pay it or take it to court

DON'T IGNORE IT! The Same Thing Happened To Me, But My Ticket Was $230 And I Got It Reduced To $30 Because I Showed Proof Of My Drivers License When I Went To Court. Sometimes The Courts Will Reduce Fines (Sometimes Substantialy) If You Show Proof Or Corrections. Make Sure You Have A Valid Drivers License If The Court Asks Because They Might Confiscate It If It's Not Valid (That Sucks If You Only Have 1 Form Of I.D.). Good Luck!!

I'd definitely go to court, let the judge know you had a license, and that from now on you'll ALWAYS carry it, like Mars said they may just let you walk.

but legal fees will in the end be more than the actual fine..

so is it still worth it???

Chance you'll have to take; AND are the legal fees more than insurance increase for several years? Probably not. If there's a chance of getting out of it, it's worth the visit (and experience, for later) of going to traffic court.
