there are some individuals on 3si who have made a couple. Unless you buy from them, you'll have to make your own exhaust manifolds and custom set up. You can find turbos on ebay all day long.

An how much HP gain is in it?

single turbos dont give real good power gains compared to twin turbo set ups on our cars, but i'd still say a single turbo set up would cost around 2 grand

would it be bette to spend 2 grand an get asingle turbo..or spend 4500 an get a SC?

i would say it is better to turbo it. you could always add a second turbo later on

I dont think im gonna do anything to mine. because the transmission isnt gonna hold up to the power, plus its already high compressions to put twin turbos on..heck, i cold sell my car an buy 2 vr4's. but im not :) ... ill buy me a vr4 someday and completely rebuilt everything front to back and drag it

i talked to some people that are big into DSMs and they said you would have to change everything cause it is made for awd and it would loose alot of tourge cause its not going to both sets of wheels

StealthModifier

he was saying that you wouldnt have as much traction, and would be the equivilant of the GS-T in DSM land.

ohh ok, well why couldnt he have just said "traction problems?"

Speaking of traction on FF 3Ss, does everyone else have trouble with the tires squealing into second when shifting at high rpms?

yes all manual cars have that proble if ur are in a FWD car. No matter what car even if it's a tempo. Hell I did it in my friends 91 cavalier 5 speed.

Srry to bring this thread back, but my friend gave me the idea of getting a single turbo for my 95 SL and get a custom install. Headers, pipes, intake and all, would a single turbo get me up to atleast 280hp or more? And would it totally destroy my tranny? :( How much power gain should i expect? Thx

If you squeal the tires when shifting into 2nd on a FWD car, its just that your timing isn't so good. Its not a 'problem that plagues all FWD MT owners.' You're probably letting the clutch out too quick. And when most people shift at high rpm's (most of the time when flooring it to max power) since you're foot is mashed on the accelerator, you're then trying to mash the clutch adn shift quickly, in which case most people don't have the timing down exactly, and this suqeal the tires.

practice makes perfect.

to get enough power off a single turbo to actually make it worthwhile, you will need to get something that flows equivalent to a TD05 big 16g or more, or else its pointless to put one on. As far as the transmission, install an LSD and an upgraded clutch to be able to hold the power, and just pray that your gears dont get sheered. Ty from speedfactor has been through like 6 trannies already. Some people haven't had a transmission problem yet, and some have had to replace their transmission.

a gs-t and a gsx stock for stock....from a roll the gst will waste the gsx. fwd has less drivetrain loss and less traction. so your not as quick off the line but once u get traction you get more power. there is a fwd tt 3/s in the high 11's right now. im putting a single turbo on my sohc this winter. im expecting 280whp when its tuned at 8-10 psi. of course this will be just the begining :D as for single turbo vs. a s/c....personally id rather get the turbo....its easier to make more power with a turbo. either way you go you need an lsd and a good clutch. i can do my whole turbo setup for the price of just the supercharger. if your worried about high compression....then run low boost. you should be able to run 6-8 psi safely on 10:1 cr. this will gain u just as much hp as the s/c
