I would definitely consider a X Type. (http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddriver/previews/2001/June/200106_preview_2k2jaguarxtype.xml) It's just in range of my salary. A Jag for the poor folk!!:D

The main things I like about it is the fact that it's available in a stick, finally, and that it has all wheel drive. I saw and got in one at the Auto show. Did you go to it i_rebel?

How fast is the acceleration going to be? and how much is it going to cost?
from what i've seen on the web site, it looks like it's gunna be sweet, all those cool features, like on a more expensive car, voice activated things, headlights turn on automatically in the dark.....

Read that the X-type goes 0-60 in 7.5 compared to a more expensive 330i tested by the same mag at 5.9 sec. I've also read the X at 6.9 sec and the 330 at 6.5. The difference in the X's times may be manual or automatic because the mag did not specify in the performance index. BTW the 5.9 is a bit fast from what I have heard (not only in other mags but also from other drivers).

Jaguar styling, qaulity, with all wheel drive for around $30,000 is a great package. Jaguar has been ranked with Lexus in terms of quality and if the X-type does prove over time to be a solid car then I would buy one. I just fear buying any car during the first year of production. The automobile is a complex machine and odds are high that something will go wrong with any first year car. Back seat leg room is a little tight on the X-type. BMW and Audi have the same problems. Ford should use that all wheel drive technology on the Mustang to help improve the handling. Mustangs look great, but going through the turns it gets a little sloppy.

Yeah the X-type looks cool. Slap some twin turbos on that bad boy and you've got one hell of a ride. :D:D:D

The Mustang was never designed to turn or stop for that matter. It was only equipped with brakes and a steering system (probably out of an F350) to meet federal safety standards. Have you ever looked at even a 2004 Mustang on a lift...the suspension looks like something out of a heavy duty cargo van.
