97 eclipse rs check engine code 31 and 12

Can anyone give me help with these codes,or guide me where I can find help? I realize from checking it has something to do with the evap system. Can I drive my car like this? Any ideas where to start trouble shooting,or is this a major ordeal and should go to dealership. Love my Eclipse,first time I had any real problem : ) Thanks Much

Went to Autozone and had checked, OBDII code was P0442, Small leak in Evap emissions control system.

How did you repair this code fault P0442 small leak detected in the evap
system. I have the same code.What parts were replace.

It was the gas cap. Buy a new one and should fix the problem. If not your problem, leak is very tiny and will cause no major problems.Thats what I was told.

I have replaced the gas cap with an oem but still had the cel come on. I just replaced the vapor canister,re-set the cel and went through emissions test with no problem. No cel after 1 week.
