crackling noises up front

I have a cracklin noise in the Front end of my 99 Dodge Grand caravan. It does it mostly when i rock the van side to side and when i cross over uneven road way. I was told it was the "Stabalizer bar Links", Replaced those, cracklin still there. Any Ideas? Could it be the Stabalizer bar bushings, tie-rods or in the strutts? It is not the The Drive axles. I can fix the problem my self if I knew what it was. Thanks

Any chance you could have someone rock the van while you get down below to listen to where the cracklin noise is coming from? even if you have it up on ramps, should be stable enough to get underneath and locate the noise.

I've done that, cant really tell where the noise is coming from. It first started on the drivers side and is now on both sides, any other suggestions? THANKS

When you rock the van, check the strut mounts in the engine compartment to check for extra play. Also how's the steering, is there extra play? Could be just that the struts need replacement. Just some ideas. I'd just hate to see you replace a whole bunch of stuff that dosn't need replacement. $$$. How many miles on your van?

103k, The Van runs great and has not free play in the steering. took it to the dodge dealer (without paying) the guy says its the sway bar bushings. I dont think thats what it is but for $16 dollars I will try it. I see there is a lot of people with the same problem on the message board, so Ill keep replacing the cheap stuff util there is no more sqeeking. I will keep the curios informed once I find that GREMLIN. Im not broke, but I dont like to give the dealership my money. Thanks
