Bov Leak?

OK I just posted about a higher pitch noise when boost was applied... It also happened when at a stop while in drive with brake applied... I had my bro step on brake in drive so I could listen and the noise was coming through the air filter... when I squeezed the BOV dump tube it stopped... I'm assuming that my BOV is going bad and leaking air. Is this assumption correct? If so why would it not do it when in park? I can see why the noise would happen when accelerating and boost is up there but not when at a stop.... I don't want to go and get new BOV if this is not going to fix it... don't get me wrong, I want a 1stgen bov but if there is something else that needs to be fixed I want to do that first.
Thanks for any help..... :banghead:

Oh sires pleaseth forgivith me and the errs of my ways... for I am just a noble peasant still learning the ways of thy dsm...lol i'm watchin ebay and thy cheapest i've ever seen 1gens go for is usually about $60-75 with shipping..... I still would like to know how it would leak while at a stop with brake applied ... my guess is that the intake is drawing air through the hose going to bov from int. manifold causing it to somewhat open the bov and that is how it's making noise? If so when boost is up there pressure normally pushes down on the bov keeping it closed right? thats what my mechanically inclined mind is telling me but this is my first turbo vehicle sooooo... To bad I aint got no cracka friends by me that know ANYTHING about forced air intakes!!! All I got is yall!!!!! thanks 4 da shiznit!!! lol

So this is what people talked like in the middle ages only about their horses!

Too bad they all had 1 "horsepower".... That must have sucked. Have to rice out the horses I guess and talk about that...
Most stock type BOVs, and especially 2Gs, are open at idle and cruise. The higher the vacuum, the more its open.

instead of shaving pounds they shaved hair, went with aftermarket lightweight horseshoes and ported their nostrils for higher airflow... I wonder if they had race/rice hay?
