Changes coming to the Lancer Forum

Ok,

I recently purchased a 2002 EVO VII here in Japan, and have been popping in here to see if there is any worthwhile information.

As you all know, there isn't. I feel it is time to change this. I will be a regular here from now on, so I guess we should get a few things straight.

1. No more insulting or flaming posts. There has been a rash of this, and since there have been no Moderators here to fix it, it has gone unchecked. Consider this a warning.

2. I will institute a FAQ section. There are a few members here (very few sadly) who have a plethora of knowhow, and I will be asking you to put your 2 cents in. I will delete any crap that is added and remove the user responsible.

3. This is not a car comparison corner. The Lancer was not designed to beat a Viper. Use the search function to find if your question has already been answered.

4. Any questions for me can be addressed via PM.

Thanks, and I look forward to sharing info with you all from here on.

Finally someone who's serious about his shit!

hey man maybe you can help since your from japan.
I got an evo 8 i think you guys call it there a GSR. I've been looking for advice on how to mod my car. I dont know if you heard of the mr FQ 320 for the uk, im pretty sure you do, but i want it to be mod up just like it. 320 hp on my evo is a reasonable and ideal numbers for me, and most importantly, i dont want my mpg to go down as well. i want my car to be a daily driven. Anyways thanks in advance if you have anything you would recommend.

No offense to they guys that actully own a lancer and not a Evo but i think the to should be seperated. Sure teh evo is based off the lancer but it is so much advanced/better. Othen than that as for a FAQ i would try looking at some Sites dedicated just to evos and getting a idea maybe going into a collebaration with them on one. Just my 2 cents.

Hey, Mark, congrats on the car, they're phat
:2cents:
If you're planning on making any changes to the forum the first one really should be to separate lancers into "Lancer," "Lancer Evolution," and "Lancer Sportback." i found it kind of confusing that the catagories haven't been sub-divided or anything.
:2cents:
I would hop on that if i knew how, but this is my first post... You've got some worthy aims though, and i'll help ya out if ya lemme know how...

I have been on evolution forums for a while now and have a good deal of EVO knowledge from experience. If anyone needs to know anything, just ask. If I don't know it, I will definitely find out.

Since no changes were ever put into place, that I can see, and nobody seems to be keeping watch on the Lancer section. I have volunteered myself to be your moderator... If you have any issues that need to be addressed concerning moderation of this area, please feel free to send me a PM. I will be trying to learn more about Lancers/Evo's as time goes on so that I can help newer members in the future. As of right now, all I know are the basics that parallel the DSM's. So I won't be completely useless.

low restriction headers, turbo-back race exhaust,
as long as you dont change the air fuel ratio your mpg wont go down

AFR isn't the only thing that affects MPG. More air in/out means more fuel to keep AFR where it is supposed to be. More efficient does not always mean better mileage.
