Hello, I am trying to remove the rear body panel/notch back peace off of my fiero. I removed all the bolts except 3. These three are located under the head liner and appear to be carriage bolt types that have been moled into the fiber glass on the top. My problem is when I put a socket on the nuts of these bolts where they stick down through the roof, the whole thing spinns bolt and all. I cant think of any way to keep the bolts from spinning, is there some special way to do it? How can I remove these bolts short of ripping the panel to peaces? I would really appreciate any help as I don't want to have to destroy the panel if I don't have too.

This trick works great on any spinning bolt but takes a steady hand to do: pick a tap a couple sizes smaller then the bolt and pilot drill then tap a hole in the bolt. Insert a hex head machine screw into the hole and tighten it. Turn it with a socket while holding the nut steady with an open end or crow's foot wrench. You should get things loose enough for the nut to come off the rest of the way by hand. If there is enough room, you may also be able to use a nut splitter to crack the nut in half- it's easier but not always possible in tight spaces. .
