I'm plannin on paint my car before put the new engine, I made a research and I found this:
3 qt's MBC 6176c (2004 mazda RX-8 metallic blue)
1 gal MR187 Reducer
1 gal DCU2021 Clear
1 qt DCX61 Hardner
All this for $341.76 only the pain, i'm going to paint it my self.
If this is to much, and someone know some place around Fort Lauderdale, davie, etc. with best prices plz let me know.

sure I have some experience with pain, and one of my friends worked in a body shop for like 16 years, and he is going to tell me couple of secrets at the time of paint

DUDE NO paint your car after you put the engine in. Because if you paint it before while your engine is getting put in a few accidents could happen something falls or this and that. Just paint your car after everything major is done.

Nope, that sounds about right. Mine was about $425 for the paint, clear, reducers and hardeners

make sure you have a buffer, buffing compound, 1000-1600 grit sand paper for wet sanding...
dont try and go to fast you will get orange peel like a mother fucker and it makes your car look like ass! i can gaurantee your goin to get it seeing it's your first time painting a car, the slower you go the easier it will be to wet sand it out... you better get use to sanding cause there is a lot of it when you paint a whole car! just take your time and i'm sure you'll do fine, painting isnt really that hard its just time consuming. expecially when its your first or second car... good luck

You can be sure that I know what is sand, I told you that I use to pain boats, and sand them to offcourse, damn that was a really heavy job. I have a lot of experience with sand paper :iceslolan

Yes. Sanding. Lots of fun. You have to do it before you can even put epoxy on a wood boat, then you sand it before you put on the paint. Sanding is a big part of it.

yea my friend didnt sand his truck with rust and the rust seeped throught the primer. it was funny.

yeah you have to sand it, put the bondo (if need it) then sand it again, put high built, sand again 2nd hand of primer now, and then you put the pain, it's pretty interesting, that's what i'd had to do to paint the bottom of the boats. a lot of fun more here in florida where the weather is so cool to work under the sun :grinno:
