Gauge Neddles probem Help

I recently had mitsubishi change out my Gauge face plates only. To do so they had to remove the needles. Now all the Gauges are not working correctly. RPM gauges drops the goes back up, Speedometer gauge is slow to move and when I come to a stop the needle stops at 5mph the a quick drop to 0mph. I brought it back to Mitsubishi and they said after changing them out thell never be the same because they were put in at the factory and they are the only ones who can do it. Is this true and do you know away I can fix it so that they work correctly?
