C'mon Post Dates!

Hey everyone...thought I'd start a new thread, since the other one went bit astray.....

Could everyone please post dates they are available to meet, as otherwise this meet will never take place! Lets get this happening within the next few weeks if we can :)

Days I am off include:

17th Feb (Sunday)
23, 24th Feb (Sat, Sun) - I know you have a party tannee, but you should be ok by Sun??
28th Feb (Thurs)
1st Mar (Fri)
4 - 7 Mar (Mon - Thurs)
17th Mar (Sun)

My car is getting the tune up this sat, so all should be well after that.

Mmmm...dont think so...its a all nighter...so dunno....about 24th...

Sundays maybe...just give me notice and it will be cool...

17th looks ok unless I've forgotten something.

The HCC day is expensive, on the 24th:

"It's on again! The Good Old Honda Car Club Driver Training Day. Once again we are venturing forth to Wakefield Park in sunny (when it's not raining or snowing) Goulburn. In recent times this has become a regular annual event, enjoyed enormously be all attendees. The emphasis of the day is on supersprint training (ie. How to apex corners, brake correctly etc.), rather than advanced road skills. You don't need a race car to attend, any car will do as long as it's safe and roadworthy. No track experience is necessary as you will get plenty of instruction on the day. The instructors will be club members with much experience at both club level and higher sprints and racing. Helmets will be required. If you don't have or can't borrow one some will be available for hire ($25) from the track or other sharing arrangements can be made. Fire extinguishers are not needed, though we would like people to wear neck-wrist-ankle non-flamable clothing. A Wakefield licence is required ($27.50). Most of those who attended the last one should still have a valid Wakefield licence. Cost will be $90 HCCNSW members, $115 non members."

hehe. Don't knock it. 5 speed 2.5 litre V6 with power weight ratio of 10.8:1. It can get up and go when it has to.

I've heard that most cars can get up and go when pushed over a 90 degree incline :p

Cool....okay its the 17th then. Where and what time.....

we've had two suggestions previously....

1. meet at Cecil Hills Lake....and cruise down to Stanwell Tops
2. Meet somewhere near Carlingford and cruise to Gosford.
3. We could meet somewhere and cruise to the gong.

We have to take into consideration that it will be a sunday, and quite busy at most places....

What time does everyone agree on meeting. Probably an afternoon or early evening drive, will ensure there is a bit less traffic and people about....

Why not do a mid arvo run and find somewhere to stop off for dinner (not maccas :D ). Gosford run sounds nice, what does everyone else think.

BTW - welcome back Q - thought you'd gone into hiding :D

I'm not to sure - I've been to Gosford twice in my life (I think :D ). Then again, I've only been to the 'gong about 5 times in my life :)

HAHA....yeah I've probably been to Gosford that many times, but the gong....well a few thousand probably....especially since I used to live down there.

I have a friend who goes for cruises up there regularly but takes the old pacific hwy route. I've invited him along....

So Setanta...you have any preferences on where we going....doesn't seem like we're too familiar about gosford....plus t x 2 will be with me, and grant is going to be with you....only looks like 2 - 3 cars. Maybe we should keep it a shortish cruise...

I'm trying to think of somewhere that would be a shortish run - I might be going out on a run with the Honda Car Club tomorrow onto Putty Rd... I'm still trying to decide if I want to do that or laze around and do nothing instead :D

I might dig out a tourist atlas and see whats around. Other than that I'm easy as to where we go. :)

What's your view on the Stanwell Tops run??? Its a nice drive, and great view when you get there. Actually I don't mind on the distance...if my friend is coming he wont either. I'm not too familiar with gosford though

Stanwell Tops sounds good (actually I had to look up where it was :D ). Usually I go up through the Blue Mountains - then again, I used to live there and don't get lost (getting lost is something I excell at :p )

We could always meet at Cecil Hills Lake like a suggested before, and go past my place through Cowpasture rd, Camden Valley Way, onto the M5, off at Heathcote rd, and then the F6, and take the Stanwell Tops exit...

Going on lunch...be back in half an hour :)

Okay....the location for the park at Cecil Hills...well the meeting place is Inverness Circuit next to the lake, which comes off Feodore Drive, which starts at the intersection of Cowpasture rd, and Nth Liverpool Rd, at Bonnyrigg Heights.

What time do we want to go??? I suggest maybe more in the afternoon, so there will be less people at Stanwell Tops when we get there, plus after we get there we can decide what we want to do for food. Depending on the whether we can either head down to the gong, and then come back on the F6, or come back the way we came down, and stop off somewhere for a bight.

I'd rather start late morning, cruise for a few hours, lunch, cruise back, bum around at maccas til late afternoon. I'm out that night. I'll have to be back by 5:30.

We could always meet somewhere and take a trip over to the Northern Beaches??
