want 88 turbo, what 2 l@@k 4

Hey everyone,
I have always wanted a 944 turbo, was looking for an 88 or so. I test drove one last summer from a porsche dealer but they were asking WAY to much! And I was hoping you guys could tell me what to look for since I have no clue and you do. I dont know what year to get, and ive heard of some common problems, I talked to a porsche mechanic that I used to work with and he said the problem with the 944's is that they are just getting old so you have to expect to spend a bit more just tuning it and gettin it going perfect again (I kinda figured that though). I want to get a turbo for sure, and I want it to be a five speed. Thanks for any input. Oh, and does anyone know what model porsche was in bad boys 1, I would have to say that is the coolest looking car i have ever seen...im guessing it is a 1995ish 911 turbo or is a 993???? k bye.
