my friend wants to get an sh prelude and we found one at some dealership and the people there said it was an sh but there wasnt that TypeSH emblem on it, so is there any way u can tell the difference by looking at it like the exterior, interior, or engine?

it will have the straight five spoke rims and factory spoiler NO third brake light
it is always 5spd and if you look inside the bay there should be a stamped ATTS near the tranny somewhere

Everything Pikkagtr said plus I believe that the SH came with leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

another thing a lot of peopel forget about is the courtesy light in the doors. if it has those, it's a type sh. look at the side skirts and the rear lip, if they're the same color as the car, it's a type sh.

Do you know what makes an sh an sh ? Basically its about 80+ pounds or so of an ATTS unit and other minor b.s. So if you want to really know if it is sh, bend down and look on the backside of an engine. Turn the wheels of that car all the way to the left stick your head in the gap and look. A base model will have 1 1/2' extension shaft running from transmission to driver side axle. An SH will have a wierd looking rectangular 'box' (I don't know how to describe it exactly) between transmission and driver side axle that's bolted on the block. That's your atts unit which acts sort of like electronically controled LSD. I have pictures of both atts on the block and off I just don't know how to post them, still learning how to type.

don't get an SH if your gonna add more power - i heard they are bad for that. (clutch based ATTS).... besides - save the money off the sticker price of the car and stick an LSD in there. also when i blew my SH motor it was cheaper to ditch the ATTS and get a JDM motor to put in there - SH motors are WAAAY to rare. had to do a complete swap though - tranny - axles - ecu - modified harness.
