Ignition Switch

I am having trouble with the ignition switch in my '94 MX3. It will not release the key. Starts and runs the car fine, but will not turn to the lock position to release the key. I have replaced the steering column and switch. That worked for about four turns and now is acting the same way as the original. Any ideas?

Yea, the obvious is known. The switch worked properly for the last year since I bought the car. Pushing the key in to turn back is where it gets stuck. Whatever type of mechanism, i.e. pin, spring, they use seems to be the problem. What seems odd is that two different switches/steering columns have the same identical problem in the same car.
