Hi, I am new to this site and have a question

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to say that I am glad to have found this site. One quick question. What is the best way to use LEDs as neons?

as neon ? well you need a clear plastic tube I guess.. I never seen anyone useing them in 1/24 yet. I do that some time on computer case, I get an acrylic tube and put 2 ultra bright led on each end, it's not the same intencity as a Neon or cold cathode, but sometime it better that way.

So I guess you could try with small 3mm ultrabright led and some small plastic tube.

What effect are you looking for? Under car glow? To do this effectively, i would try to find 20-25 of the same led's, and mount them in rows- 5 or 6 between front and rear wheels on the sides, 4 or 5 on front and rear edges. Wire them in parallel (or series, if you're lazy). The critical thing is to mount them high enough hat they are hidden by the overhanging body edge, or in some other way that the led's themselves aren't directly visible.
