Royally Pissed!

So last summer I took my camaro in to get it painted the black with silver as I"ve told many of you:eek7:....The guy didn't get it right.....dull black paint with swirls and no high class glosss!!!! yikes!:screwy: Anyway, I hit the front and had to go have it painted again...so i took it back two weeks ago and just got it back today...Welll,,,,,,,,,Lets say it is glossyier now, but there is like a million swirls in the paint all down the side and rear and the guy said to wax it about three times and it'll go away......Anyway the stripes are jacked up...and he buffed the hell outta my groundeffects.!:nono: And to top it off there is a new ding in the side...and not to mention overspray on the hood...:banghead:....And also the stupid idiots down at the part store don't know what they're doing and for the second time they got the wrong tips for my exhaust...so now all i have is a muffler and no tips...:disappoin.I am so pissed and depressed right now...No one ever does the job right the first time!:mad:

damn, that sucks... you didnt take it back to the same shop that screwed up the first time did you? Can you prove that the ding is from them? and get the tips yourself then

i know how that is, i had my 91 rs repainted and the paint rubbed off within 6 month----after the warranty ran out, i paid $1,300 to have it repainted
and i looked good but it all turned to powder 6 months later. and he wouldnt fix it.

I get to go look at my baby for the first time in 7 months. It has been at my inlaws while I was on deployment. A deer ran smack into the right front while my wife was taking it to get it inspected and all tuned up for me so she could pick me up in it to surprise me. 1800 dollar paint job ruined. She said it is only the bott of the right front that is messed up. I am scared to go look at it. Dont have money to rpaint it. I recently purchased a carb rear and gears and am putting them in in october when i get back from my vacation to Fl. Next comes some new rims then the paint. I was honestly thinking about getting a maaco cheapy hoping it will last a little while until i can get it painted right again. It wont be the same driving it knowing that the paint is messed up.

Repainting sucks. My blazer ended up becoming part of the back of some shitty car a few years ago and only the front bumper got messed up. But the retarted thing is is that the body shop put the bumper on then painted it, so now it has random white patches. I know how you feel.

Wax is not gonna get rid of those swirls... those swirls are there get use to em cause black is a bitch!

Your stripes are jacked cause the were to lazy to clear it, let it set, wet sand the lines out and clear it again like your suppose to do.

Sorry bout all the shit, paint can be one of the most frustrating car things to deal with. I'd love to help you out but I'm a Masshole.

depends on the name of the place you went darlin, paint is somethin i wouldnt trust maaco to do, the parts i got back from my dealership, were just sprayed, not even prepped, and they are a deep glossy black, no swirl, it all depends on the quality of the people, and the equipment they have. if you got a 200 dollar paint job, you got a 200 dollar paint job, if you paid 2K for the paint job, you take it somewhere else from now on, or take it to court because they done screwed you. black paint is a pain to do right, but thats the problem of the paint shop, if they charge someone for a black paint job, they have the burden of delivering what they sell. but its kinda like choosing between jiffy lube cuz they have cheap prices, or the dealership who does it right. sorry you got ripped off darlin, cest la vie right??? :)

Asking around for a good paint shop is most important. My aunt payed a guy $3000 to do a paint job and he messed it up. They went to court and she was getting paid back alittle at a time. I would offer less money if I think they guys are not the experienced. I hope they fix it but remember the saying burn me once shame on you burn me twice shame on me. :nono: :biggrin:

Hey Camarochick, I know this sounds stupid but try Meguiar's Scratch X. My Dad bought a black Caddy STS and it was covered with swirl marks. I figured I'd give this stuff a shot and we were both completely surprised of how good it worked. You polish this stuff on, buff it out, and then go over it with normal wax and the swirl marks or gone. Give it a shot.

I know black is a pain. That is no excuse. I agree with 89irocrs. You should get what u pay for. As far as usnig any wax on a brand new paint job. You shouldnt have to do that. Isnt there like a certain time you are supposed to wait before you use any wax on a new paint job?

that is so right... we both are massholes, and if you go to boston there everywhere, especially when your in like dorchester(a ghetto) and people throw lacquer thinner(paint destroyer) on peoples cars and it pisses me off, just because they have a ricer doesnt mean they have to mess up someones better car...

man i feel sorry for you that compleatly sucks..i know what it feels like my friend took his 84' z28 to get painted he got it done by maco for 2k man it was the shittyist paint i have ever seen...so he go's to court got half his money back and kept the paint for like 2-3 yrs then he takes it to a diff shop...*the horros under this paint was like unreal the paint and bonda Came off in like chunks 5x5feet so..he wants to get thses murals done on his car he gets dave tomas to do them...hes suposed to be good around hear in alberta so..he wants to get it so it looks like the motor is rippin out of the hood...makin it look as real as possible...alli can say he he roayal screwd it up...so another 2k later he takes it to a diff shop they do the rest of the body work and the paint wich is like 14 layers btw...20k later he has this nice ass paint job. and thats the end of my rantin..lol
