My driver side headlight motor stays running for about 10 seconds after i turn the lights off. Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause?

the gear is probly stripped. thats a major problem with any firebird. they make the gears out of cheap azz plastic. you can find one online for about 30 bucks i think. or if your cheap like me there is an alternative. i got bored one day so i took the motor apart, filled in the stripped part with epoxy, and then recut the grooves out with a hobby knife. its cheap and definitely ghetto but it worked great. been about a year now and it still works. good luck

or you could do what I did and replace them with the brass ones.

sounds to me like the gears are stripped and and starting to go. My motors both did the same thing before I had to replace them. Soon enough, it wont work at all. Save yourself some heartache and replace it soon. Just my :2cents: There's nothing quite like having to tug your headlights up in the bar parking lot to make you look like a tool!

THANKS. THIS SUCKS IM BROKE AS HELL AND NOW NEED TO FIX THAT LIGHT. IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH ALOT OF TRANS AMS AND FIREBIRDS THOUGH I ALWAYS SEE THEM WITH THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT DOWN. :banghead: :disappoin
