2003 vs 2004 decision

I thought I had made a decision to buy a 2003 Track model with navigation system. I was happy with the color (Brickyard) and and price (<$30,000). However, I keep locating information about the front end suspension problem that causes tire wear every 5,000 to 7,000 miles. Nissan has even come up with a bulletin to state that they will replace tires free of cost up to 21,000 miles. This has supposedly been fixed on the '04. I became even more concerned when I noticed that this particular Z has new tires and it has only 12,000 miles on it.
Anyone experiencing this problem with their Z? Is it something that should prevent me from buying this 2003 Z? Any input would be appreciated?
This will likely cause me to get an '04 Enthusiast instead of the '03 Track. Darn.

I have heard about that too so you are not the only one, but I don't know the specifics.

I own a 2003 touring model which had about 14,000 miles on it at the time. About 2 months ago I received a recall notice in the mail saying the alignment was incorrect which caused excessive tire wear. I took the car in and they gave me new tires and claimed that the alignment problem had been fixed. We will see how these next set of tires wear.

Thanks for the replies on the '03 vs '04 question. I couldn't take it anymore and went ahead and worked a decent deal on a new black '04 Enthusiast. I think the dealers are starting to deal to make room for the '05s. I don't think I will be disappointed. I got the new Z but didn't get the navigation. I am also happy with getting the "17 tires over the "18. I found that the ride was smoother for everyday driving.

Just to chime in, the prob with the 03 was the excessive toe in, which caused the inside of the tires to wear. It was easy to fix, just needed a laser alignment system.
