How to Paint Racing Strips

I am working on a Revell Doge Ram truck that is blue with white racing stripes. I ripped one oh the decals and was wondering if anyone had a better idea to paint these. If there is some other way of doing these please let me know

I bet it's two thick stripes down the middle, Viper style, right?
awaken1973 has it right, masking it off with tape, then spraying the stipes is the only way to fly. If you can find it, the Tamiya masking tape is great. I never would have guessed at the difference until I used it. :)
You may want to mark where the stripes will go first, so you'll be sure to make them parallel.
It may be easier for you to mask of only one stripe at a time, and mask off the rest of the truck body to guard against overspray. I usually cut up pieces of plastic grocery bags to cover the rest of the body.
And important tip, that I learned the hard way, is once you have the area masked, spary the edges with a light spray of either clear or base body color. This will coat the edge of the tape and keep the white paint for the stripes from seeping under. If a little clear or body color gets under, no one will notice.
Then spray on the white. Make sure you start spraying off to one side of the model, and sweep all the way across it before you stop spraying. Don't start or stop spraying while you're pointing at the model.
Use many thin coats of paint. Be patient. If you put too much on too fast, it'll get a weird "orange peel" texture, all lumpy. If you really put too much on, you'll get a run in the paint. That's bad. :(

I agree with Jay except for the masking tape,Bare Metal Foil is much
thinner than any tape and that means less paint build up on the edges !:argue:

Have you had good sucess with BMF?
I used it a few times and found it to be a real pain in the butt to get off once paint was on it. Still got a little bit of bleed under it to.
