Beat an 00 Firehawk

Was out cruising the local drive tonight and there really was not much going on at all. I was with two of my other friends with Mustangs. One that a supercharged 306 vert and the other is a fairly stock vert.
We happened to come across this 00 Firehawk with a few kids in it who were playing around with us, but mainly me. He wanted nothing to do with the supercharged car, and I guess he though I was an easy target.
Well, we lined up at a light and both went at it. By the top of first I was ahead, he stayed at my rear bumper through second, and I started pulling ahead through 3rd. We met up a little later at Dunkin Donuts, and I asked the guy driving if he was really trying. The response I got was, I was barely on it. Both my other friends said that was bull and he was really trying and just gave up. It was just too damn funny.

Why would anyone who has a fast car, want to take it easy on someone and let them win? People talk more BS than ever and make it obvious. :loser:
Good kill, he probably knew he was going to lose anyways. :iceslolan

It was my first street race in the car with this set up. I actually went to the track wednesday and pulled off a 13.4 1/4 mile run with a shitty launch, with practice I'll be in the 12's. But I seriously doubt the guys in the Firehawk thought my car had any balls from the way it looks, it's pretty sleeperish.

thats not too bad just getting used to the car. with that time you would probably have 4-5 cars on me, since i have never launched my car. i have never raced from a stop.
keep us updated on the track times.

It doesn't surprise me Firehawk owners are some of the cockiest car people I know. So I'm especially glad you killed one of them! LoL
Nice kill I definetly see 12's in your future especially when you get your new wheels on!

This is probably a really dumb question, but what exactly is the difference between a Firebird and a Firehawk?

from my understanding the major difference between the WS6 trans am and the firehawk was the suspension. the hoods are slightly different, and the horsepower ratings are extremely similar, but in favor of the firehawk (10hp). we all know that the ls1 motor was underrated and differ greatly from motor to motor.
the firehawk is more rare, and has its own styling all together. hood, wheels, spoiler. give me a firehawk please.

I don't think I've ever even seen a Firehawk. What years was it offered?
