My love/hate of Ford

I used to detest ford, but my first car was a 1975 Bricklin SV-1, the only thing ford on it was the 351 Windsor engine, which actually ended up being the only thing working on the car. My first drivable car is a mustang, and I cant say that know of a car I would rather have gotten in the price range if I could do it all over again.
The only thing I dont like about Ford is that they hold out all their good cars from America. The cars Im thinking of is the RS Focus and the Ford Falcon. Right now the American market is ripe for both of these cars and I dont believe Ford will sell either of them here. The Focus RS is in the same bracket as a Subaru WRX and a VW R32, and the Ford Falcon would be an excellent competitor to the new Pontiac GTO and the Dodge Magnum. This isnt a new thing either, the Cosworth-Ford cars never made it here either (namely the Escort and the Sierra). I think if these cars were sold in the US when they came out, US made cars would have more pull in the sport compact tuning community. I love Ford, their the "coolest" American car company out there the way I see it, but they would be the best maker hands down if they offered these cars in the US where I could drive one.

I'm disappointed at no LHD Falcons at the moment as well, but with all the money Ford Australia lost on the AU Falcon it doesn't surprise me that thier just trying to fix things in Australia at the mo.
The new XR6 Turbo with the 6 speed manual is certainly a car I'd love to drive over here.
The Focus RS is dead, however :(

I figured the RS would die when Ford released the new bodystyle. In the US however we will have that bodystyle for a while yet, and now they come standard with a duratec engine I feel ford has little excuse not to release the Focus RS as the new SVT focus for 2006.

I agree, I've been a Ford Truck fan my whole life, and i love the Focus, it's the only car in it's class that i fit in and enjoy driving as a result (6'4" tall).
As far as cars, i'm axious for the 500 to come out, i think that'll be a great mind-sized car and i love the ride and space in the Crown Vic. However, as far as purchasing cars, here is my choices:
1. Truck or compact car, Ford
2. Mid size/full size car, Pontiac or 2000 - 2003 Maxima for the 6 spd stick
3. SUV, Nissan Murano'
That's just me though.

So far all of my purchases have been foreign or import due to the extremely low amount of problems i have had in past years, My father buys american made only, but chevy, gmc and dodge remain as his choices, my mother and i dislike american vehicle due to thier low amount of effort in reliability and durability and safetyness, my father has had more problems with his american made vehicles than me or my mom. Between all three of us we dislike ford for horrible reliability in our area and our friends agree also, three of them now drive Tundras and one drives a chevy.
The focus is slow and ugly and has too much plastic components and the worst reliability i have seen to date.
WHAT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED HAS BEEN BASED ON MY OPINION ONLY, IT IS NOT TO DISCOURAGE (FORD) RESPECTIVELY.

I never really was a Ford, Chevy or whatever man I just always bought american as I grew up in Detroit in the shadow of the big three. I currently drive a 99 F150 and was made fun of by 3 friends who drive Chevys (Silverado) and all three have had nothing but reliability problems, where as I've honestly had none at 151,000 miles already. I do I agree I am dissapointed when Ford withholds such great cars from the American market. Like the Australian Falcon. I agree with Jimster I'd love to drive Falcon XR6! Instead we get the 500. I don't mind the 500 as a Taurus replacement, but when compared to the Chrysler 300 I'd take the 300. I would love to see Ford of America introduce a Falcon here and place it between the 500 and the Crown Vic. Hell I'd like to see a Crown Vic with a series driveline! I like Ford as I do Chrysler and GM yet as stated above they do hold out on the top models. Europe gets a new Focus with a high po version that's AWD with a turbo 5cyl. I pray Ford brings it over as the next Focus SVT.
