ok i took the wire that goes from the coil to the optispark off... i had someone start it and i held it agains thte frame... it shot a spark.. 1..1..1..nothing.. nothing... 1 nothing..nothing.. 1..1..1 like that ... so it will almost fire.. but like i said it sounded like the timing was off..

if thats the wire from the coil to the optispark, wouldnt that be a bad coil??

well maybe.. but if a coil went bad .. wouldnt it not fire at all

oh wait, i think i just comprehended what you did. so yeah, im guessing the problem is in the optispark rotor assembly. um, although you probably wouldnt be having this problem if someone could just tell us how (or if) you set the timing on the LT1...

nono... the wire before it goes into the optispark...i held the wire that came off the ignition coil that goes to the opti... and the spark in inconsistent from the coil

so yeah, if the coil isnt putting out a consistant spark, wouldnt that be a coil problem?

well i replaced the module... still nothng.. i checked the coil as to what the book says.. there is no resistance.. so what else could it be.. i cant get into the diagnostic.. the engine light dosent do anything.. but the AIR pump turns on and stays on.. do you think the spark problem could be the EMC/PCM

check this link out its a way to test if the ECM is getting a spark signal from the optispark unit. that sounds more like the problem you are having here...

Aren't you supposed to lick your finger and touch it to the end of the wire? :evillol:

thx will do.. ive been checking the haynes manual.. but its walwyas good to have a 2nd pair of instructions.. oh and ill make sure to spill as much antifreeze on the opti as possible.. just to keep it cool.. i mean after i went my fingers and touch the red wires. :P

I gave him the same link on his last thread about this but he never check it... More than likely the optical eye is going out but dont forget to check the knock sensor as well... Both of these will cause the problem you are having...
