Phantom Stalling after short stop

I've got a 98 LeSabre that has been intermittently stalling after short stops like a STOP sign. The engine starts back up and runs fine after that. The frequency has moved from every few months to 2-3 times a week now.
I've just replaced the fuel filter - thought I'd start with something that I knew needed replacement anyway.
The car has 178K miles.
I've read some threads indiciating it could be anything from an O2 sensor , fuel pressure regulator to a fuel pump.
If the problem were easily repeatable I'd just take it to the shop.
Suggestions?

I Would Check For Corrosion On The Positive Battery Cable End , If Present Check Battery For Leakage And Replace Bolt And Spacer In Cable. Also The Crank Angle Sensor Is A Comon Cause Of This Issue. It Is Made Out Of Plastic And Cracks Allowing Engine Oil To Seep Inside The Sensor And Cause Intermitnat Stalling Issue. Excuse My Spelling. You Can Check This If You Wiggle The Conection Harness For The Sensor Or Remove It And Look For And Crack. Note Cam Sensor Can Due The Same Thing.

What sort of job do you have, my Mom has to travel, and her 99 PA has 185,000 miles. I've never seen a Lesabre with such high milage, good job to you for taking good care of the car!

Desk job but I commute about 50 miles round trip. I do try to keep the oil changed every 3000. However, this engine blow a rod bearing about 20,000 miles ago and I had it rebuilt.

Thanks for the info I'll try to find the sensor and take a look.
