Sport Compact just called me and told me that they were looking for a 97 accord in the south florida area to sponsor. they told me that i signed up for something a while back and they noticed that on it i wrote that i had one. now they are telling me that they want to give me a $12,000 sponsorship for the car. all i have to pay is $88 for the contract and that is it. what do you think the deal is? does anybody know anyone that this has happened to before. i am in awe of this but then again i dont know if it is some kind of scam of not. dont wanna get my hopes up to much.

Sounds like a scam. If they were really prepared to fork out 12 grand, why in the world would you have to pay ANYTHING??!!
Blow it off.

This doesn't sound too promising.... why didn't you write down his name? I figure that'd be quite important.

Think very carefully about the whole thing...
They're going to sponsor you with $12k, meaning they give you $12k. And yet they need $88 for paperwork. Think about it...
If it sounds too good to be true, it ain't!

You need to play their game. Call them back, get name/address/phone number, any info possible. Then forward the info to your state's AG office.

its a scam. i looked into it, they asked if i wanted to have my car sponsorded. its a buy in $75 application fee, 4 min shows a year, and you buy all your stuff wholesale, insted of shop prices. its their way of getting their name out, and selling stuff. its allright, if you dont want to pay MSRP

I can very quickly confirm if this is true if you can just give me a NAME.

what does the fine print say if you breach the contract? do you have to pay them the 12k back, or if you sign it, do they get your car?

I would personally contact SCC personally to see if it's legit. That last thing you want to do is ignore it and think it's a scam when it really isn't.....DOH
