battery draining

A few days ago I washed the engine. The next day I noticed that when I went to start my jeep, it acted like it didnt want to start. Later that night I went to start it and it was dead. I got a jump and drove it home. The next day, it was completely dead. I went and got a new battery and it started fine, I took it to my local mechanic to have him test the alternator. He tested it on the vehicle and said it was holding a good 14 volts. So here's my problem, My battery is still being drained. I checked my belt, it appears to be tight. Does anyone have any ideas??? Please Help... Thanks Jon

What you have is called a "parasitic drain".
can be caused by actual shorts to ground or a light on in the glove box. Or other accessories or computers that need to keep their memories alive.
Therefore, a certain amount of drain is permissible but it sounds like you have more than that.
I could go through a explanation about how to find it but it is easier to cut and paste these two excelent links about the subject. It is best if you have a digital multi meter and know how to use it but if you are careful to follow the connections and meter settings described, there should be no trouble.
