wow i feel a lil stupid, ok, about a year ago i got my fathers 1993 1.9L station wagon when he got a new saturn. he told me to use 10w-30. and now i feel like an idiot cuz i just noticed the other day that the oil cap says use 5w-30. is this a big prob, cuz its been running fine on, or could i be losing power from it, anything of the sort? i wouldnt know im not the smartest car person either but i am listening. also would this maybe why i didnt pass emissions even with a brand new exaust?

no its fine, you'll use 10w-30 in the summer time anyway, its a bit thicker and helps, and you should use the 5w-30 in the winter since its thinnner and helps keep the engine moving when its so cold. or you could just keep it at 10w-30, its nothing to worry about.
