throttle body spacer

i own a 99 ranger XLT sport. I know they never actually made a 99 model so that kinda creates its own little profile, but anyways, i purchased a throttle body spacer for my truck and the mounting bracket is too short to connect the transmission indicator. I know i have installed it correctly, but am wondering if I should buy a 2000 bracket for the spacer or is there another solution. Id kinda like to know before i just start buying parts. Thanx for any tip or tricks.
