what the gear ratio is in the front and rear diff of a 2002 Wrangler X? Also does it come with the Dana 35, or 44? :banghead:

Being that new you should still have the labels on the rear dif. On my 00'XJ they were on the right side.

Standard ratio is 3.07, optional is 3.73 If you're running 3.07 then you'll have around 2000 rpms at about 60 with the stock tires (225/75/15). HIgher r's with the 3.73

And should be Dana 35's, unless the optional 44 was ordered for the rear (check axle tube, if it's alot more massive than the front it's the 44).

If the labels are missing, you can do the backyard mechanic thing, tape a string to the drive shaft and mark it, mark a spot on the tire, then have someone drive very slowly until the tire does 1 full revolution. Count the times the string has gone around the drive shaft. 3x or closer to 4. You'll have your answer.

Hope this helps
