How do you guys shift? do you look at the tachometer or do you shift by hearing?

Sound of the engine...........plus if I give it a bit, the vtec controller will beep at 6000 rpms to remind me, although I can set the beep for different levels of rpms.

DOode! Depends really cause if you have a modi. RSX type-S then you really can't depend on the sound of the engine. So if i were you just lOok at your damn tachometer to help you, and I don't know about you but i shift every 3500 RPM, so how about yah?

I have a type-s and you can definitely tell when you need to shift by the sound of the engine. Im not sure why you say can't depend on the sound of engine :confused: It works for me. BTW, I shift at around 2500 rpm for better fuel economy.

i used to do it by the sound of my exhaust, there was a hole in it right before the muffler, got it fixed now, and im wasting alotta gas cus i always forget to shit, now i have to look, usually between 2 and 2 1/2, depending on what im doing
