Someone please help me with an exact way to wire the stereo so it, my dash lights, and my dome light all function properly. I tryed doing it myself and the closest i got was getting the stereo to work only when the headlights were on. the stereo i have only has 2 wires for power (other than the ground), but my car has 4 wires left over once the speakers and ground are in place. How is it supposed to go.
Thanks

The three power wires on the stereo are Ground -(Black), Ignition +(Red), and Backup +(Yellow). The red Wire should connect to one of the wires in the stereo hook up on the car. The wire it connects to will have power only when the ignition is on. The Yellow wire needs to connect to a wire that has power all the time (Ignition on/off). Sometimes it can be difficult to find wich wire to use, so I run the Yellow wire strait to the fuse box, to a fuse that has power all the time even when the ignition is off. The red wire could also run to the fuse box, but to a fuse that only has power when the ignition is on. The Yellow wire needs power all the time to keep radio presets and the time on the clock. Their are two wire connectors on the car for the radio. One has 8 wires for the speakers. The other wire connector is for power. It usally has wires for ignition + turn on/off, a lamp wire that is used to light up older radios when you turn on the lights. A power anntena wire, and remote wire, either one of thoughs two wires can be used to turn a amp on/off.
