...something..not sure?

Today, i noticed that there was a whine comeing from the engine, and it had to be hooked up to the belt line because when the rpm's went up so did the noise. i checked under the hood while running and it sounded like my altanater...is it supposed to make that noise when going out or shot...could it be something near that due to where the sound is mainly comeing from...

it could be on its way out. does it charge ok though??

Actually to tell the truth, i did notice a slight decrease, not very slight but noticeably different angle, of power. Also, how much do they run and R&R?

Very simple to R&R yourself.. But yea if its howling thats usually a sign that its on its way out.. Ive rebuilt them myself before for about $35cdn
Use a pipe or hose to your ear and try to pinpoint the noise, make sure its comin from the alt. first!

I may be wrong, didnt the altanaters require a torqe ractet thingy?

Just because it is charging does not mean that the bearings are not going out.

Do your self a favor and go buy a bigger amp alt. It will be better in the long run. Espically if you intend on doing any kind of car auido or performance upgrades
