the little thing i ordered off ebay just plugs straight into my IAT sensor.. it's basically a little wire with a computer chip dealy on it.. however, i dont know if im supposed to be able to plug the sensor back in? the installation instructions suck horribly.. any of you guys that have done this, do you know what i am supposed to do? my car started fine.. everything works without the sensor plugged in (meaning it only has the resistor in it).. not sure what to do at this point..

i dont think you plug it back in, it's just a bridge between the 2 contacts on the connector. the IAT sensor is a variable thermal resister, your replacing it with a fixed value resister

thats what i was thinking.. because it doesnt make much sense to plug it in now.. but i wasnt possitive so i figured it wouldnt hurt to ask

i'll have to go check on it in the morning.. does the color of the bands matter?

yes, the colors represent the resistance of the, well, resistor. the first two are values, the third is a multiplier, and the fourth is the accuracy value (the last band is either gold or silver)...

Did you happen to check those color bands?
