I have a 1994 Metro XFI 5 spd runs perfect except it developed a mild surge. It most noticable in the upper range of each gear and when crusing. I has new gas filter, timing, plugs, ECM reset but still cant pin put my hand on the problem. :eek7:

Can you relate the surging to use of the A/C? If it only does it when the A/C is on, then it may be the A/C Idle Air Control solenoid, or it's vacuum hoses. That was the case on my '93.

Thanks GeoJim Ill check the hoses again. It doesnt have AC. I suspect it fuel related some how by the way it feels also seems like the engine lacks the power it had. Was running perfenct before they ran it through emissions test.

always check the vacuum connections after the pros at the emmissions test center get done!

Im checking all connections and looking for taders so far all looks like its in great shape. So far it still has a surge in the upper range of each gear. She was running perfect before it was abused on the emissions treadmill.

Tsk tsk tsk Geojim. We know Metro XFi models don't have A/C!
