2000 Camry CE clock not working

The clock on my 2000 Camry is not working, and I can't figure out why. I don't think it's the fuse because everything else (dome light, trunk light, etc.) seems to be working fine. Could it be the bulb, and if so, how do I change that?

There is no bulb inside the clock...it's ran on LEDs. It is the fuse that has blown..what you'll need to do is go behind the coin box, or the "accessory box" and pull the fuse for the Ciggy lighter, because the clock and the ciggy lighter run on the same fuse. It's a 15 amp, and you should have a spare inside of the main fuse box in the engine compartment beside the battery. (Refer to the diagram on the inside of the cover to help locate the spares.)

I tried that fuse as well as the 7.5 A panel fuse beside it (which the manual says controls the clock and display lights), and neither is broken. The cigarette lighter works fine, as do most of the other electrical components near it (air conditioning, radio, dash lights, etc). Any idea what it could be, and how I can fix it? I called a dealership and they said a new clock would cost $300--I'm trying to avoid that high cost.

Well, if the fuses check out all right, then it's either a faulty connection(s) to the clock, or the clock is burnt out. I do believe in order to remove the clock from the dash, the whole dash needs to be removed, so this is probably why the cost is so much from the dealer. I've tried to remove the clock from the dash without removing the whole dash before, and have never been able to get it out. I think there are locking tabs from behind, eithe that, or it's installed from the inside of the dash...But I couldn't get it out. You might want to look around on http://www.toyotaandlexusparts.com/ and see if they have a replacement clock and see how much they charge for it first before going to the dealer.
