civic vs porsche carrera gt!!!

whats good...i was coming home from work one day and i pull up to a light next to this porsche carrera...he had his windows down so i figure i would be a little clown and rev my motor next to him :naughty: ...so i rev up (it sounds pretty loud cause i have a slight leak) look over to him and laugh...strangely enough he revs back and looks at me mad serious...so im like hey he wants to run lets run!( :screwy: my ass never shoulda done this)...so im holding revs and the light turns green and i jump half a car............................................... ......................... okay who am i kidding...this guy pulls on me from beginning to end, gave me straight air-craft carrier lengths...i swear i looked over to the side walk and there was a little kid pointing and laughing at me it was so bad...

so either way i end up meeting him at a red light later on down the road, and he winds down his window...i'm mad embarassed so i'm kinda reluctant to do it but he told me that he took his car to an "import gathering" as he called it and he ended up running some turbo civic just like mine for $300...and he got beat so from then on he's had a respect for civics and he sleeps on none of them...i was like damn his pride musta been shot so whatever agression he had, he just released on me ...but its crazy how civics get respect from some of the biggest car owners...but oh well, you win some you lose some, and you lose some REEEEEEEEEAAAAAALLLLLLLL BAD guess which one this was(never again)

p.s.- can't always post the wins, gotta post a loss every now and then

yeah...you see these $100000+ super cars everyday but they always the slowest people driving...its cool to see something like that every now and then, just next time i hope someone else is getting pulled on

yeah, there is no way it was a gt. i HIGHLY doubt any street legal civic can beat a stock gt

funny... the way I read it HE got blown away by the porsche???



edit: and while gt's and other super cars are incredibly fast they are not built to be straight line racers so yes they can be beat by plenty of "street legal" civics. I believe the newest batch of super cars are only doing very low 11's in the 1/4 stock? (note: never seen one run, just going by specs) and I've seen street legal hondas do that at the track many times.

Werd, the gt has what, 600 hp stock with a max speed of over 200 mph? It's one of the most amazing machines you'll ever see! If you see him again, take a pic because you'll probably only see one in your lifetime. It's almost like seeing a McLaren!

The stupid cobra guy thinks he's as fast as them up to 150 but as you can see, the only reason he catches up to them is because there's traffic in front of them.

Kinda funny, the "stang* is gettin whipped like a banshee to run with the Porsches, while the drivers of those cars are probably listening to some soft rock and sipping a light martini on their drive!

just type in cobra vs. carrera GT into google, I found the video and those cars aren't even accelerating and the cobra is getting whipped badly. in the time it took him to go from 150-160 the porshes were out of sight... insane man.

i too have respect for civics.

one day i was at the street races and vr4 waqs in the middle waiting for someone to race.
everyone was scared and finally a civic hatch lines up with him and were all like yeah right lets be serious.
that was the worst street race i've ever seen, the civic totally blew him away. till this day i'm still weary of that civic

For sure. one of my best buddies' has a civic that him and his dad worked on for 4 years. Its a track car not his daily so he doesnt take it out much but when he does..whoo....its one hell of a mean ass car. i think his best 1/4 ET is 11.3xx with timeslips. its got roll cage n the works. its amazing when he takes it on the street though, most cars he wont even bother until he pulls up to a zo6 or better...then he just toys with them. i know most hondas have reps of being the slowest out there (due to the surplus of ricers)but ive never personally been in anything faster in my entire life.

naw it wasnt the gt...just a reg carrera...even still, those are still hella fast!!! and i've seen a viper get taken by a bubble before...but the guy had his car setup up for what i know as a "last run"...basically u set your car up to make one CRAZY run (super boost, super spray, crazy timing, or whatever you do w/slicks of course), and then expect something to break or for the car not to run the same way your brought it there
