when comparing these two models.
what can you say is better about the cavalier over the civic? gas milage? performance? reliability? cost?...etc etc...cause i'm looking to buy a civic..but insurance is too damn high. so i'm leaning more towards a cavalier...any info would help
thanks

you just missed 4000 rebates on the 2004 cavaliers. Great deal but they just ended 8/2/04. I had a 2001 cavalier new and it was just totaled in an accident july 1st and I had absolutely zero problems. It had 32k miles on when I lost it. Just got my new fully loaded 2004 ls sport coupe last week. I saved $6000 using the rebate and my gm discount. Hopefully 2004 is just as good

Don't worry, the rebates will be back before the 05's come out, and they will very soon. Keep your eye out for it. You can even go to Chevy's website and check for current rebates in your region also. And the dealers usually have some cash off on top of that.
The newer ones have the better ecotec engine and are quite reliable. The 04's also look pretty good if you get the sports package. I guess you can say that I am biased since my bro owns one.

well the ss supercharged cobalt has $21,995 msrp and a deal going on right now for pre-orders....but as far as the N/A ss (2.4L ecotec) I don't know if they even still plan on making it, hope they do.

Lol... This is funny because I just called the Cav the American Civic. I'd have to say wait for the Cobalt too. It looks sharp and should perform well and will probably be as easy to find a body kit or decals for as a Civic.

In regards to Cavalier vs the Civic it depends what features your are looking for. I own a 2001 Cavalier and feel that it moves along better than the Civic. Both cars are reliable, but parts cost and repairs are much higher on the Civic.

i have a98 z24 & just finished building a95 civic dohc vtech, the cav has the better holeshot & rides much smoother but the civic smokes the cav in the 1/4 when the vtech engages and revs to8000 rpm the cav could never see 8000rpms
