Crashed a 2000 Malibu, need CD player!

Hi, I was just in a car accident and need to get my stereo out of my car before it goes to the junk yard. Does anyone know how to get a stereo out of a 2000 malibu? do i need take off the dashboard, i have no idea. Thanks.

Well assuming that it's like the 2001 malibu (which I have), just snap off the black plastic surrounding the radio, then unscrew. Not much to it. Once you get the plastic off, you'll see what you need to unscrew. You need to unscrew three nuts (using a nut driver). The whole thing takes about 10 minutes to do.

Oh, and before you snap the plastic off, don't forget to snap off the plastic thing where the ignition is first.
